As we near the end of the school year, we anxiously await Summer! Not for the scorching temperatures, high humidity, or late afternoon thunderstorms. Summer is about a relaxed schedule. No homework, school projects, or strict routines.
After a Saturday morning of studying for upcoming Middle School Finals, we decided to give our taste of Summer a sample.
Passion Tea Lemonade. Cool, sweet, tart, and refreshing on a hot Summer day. Add 4 Passion Tea tea bags to 4 cups water, bring to a boil, and let set for 5 minutes. Add 1/4 cup sugar. When ready to enjoy a glass of Passion Tea Lemonade, fill a glass with ice, pour Passion Tea over ice, filling glass half full. Finish filling the glass with lemonade, and enjoy. I just happened to have fresh peppermint leaves from our garden, that added a pretty touch.
Homemade pickles are another reminder of Summer. Fresh cucumbers and onions are plentiful during the Summer. Easy Refrigerator Pickles are quick to make. Their crisp, sweet, tangy, spicy taste, pair great with a BLT, salad, or fresh sliced tomatoes.
Counting down the days until “School’s out for Summer”…
