Bang Bang Shrimp

One of our favorite appetizers is Bang Bang Shrimp, from Bonefish. We’ve been known to just order the appetizer and make a meal out of it. 

For a different Friday night menu item, I recreated this favorite, using a copycat recipe I found online, and tweaking it a bit to fit our taste. 

Bang Bang Shrimp sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayo (I used about a 1/3 cup)
  • 1/4Thai Chili Sauce (I used the mild)
  • 2-3 squirts siracha sauce (more or less depending on your preference)

Place ingredients in small bowl, mix, and set aside. 

  • 3-4 dozen peeled, deveined, and tailor removed shrimp (1dozen per person for a meal)
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch

Place cornstarch in gallon ziploc bag, add shrimp, and toss to coat. Fry in small batches until lightly golden brown. 3-4 minutes. 

Keep warm in preheated or low temp oven while frying remaing shrimp. Place fried shrimp in large bowl, drizzle with bang bang sauce, and toss to coat.

Serve with a salad or loaded baked potato for a quick and easy weekend dinner.
